Combined Flock Book

The Rare Breeds Survival Trust acts as the registration authority for eight sheep breeds:
Boreray, Castlemilk Moorit, Manx Loaghtan, Norfolk Horn, North Ronaldsay, Portland, Soay and Whitefaced Woodland and from 2007 the Bagot goat, recording births of purebred sheep and goats in the Combined Flock Book which is published annually. The registration regulations can be found below:-

On Line Access to the Combined Flock Book

Members can search for animals, look at progeny lists, extended pedigrees and owner details. Ownership records are dependent upon members notifying the registry of all changes.

‘On Line Registration’. Members can notify deaths, transfers, new births and register previously birth-notified animals 'on line'.

Once in the Flock Book site, click on 'Manage Your Own Flock'. Type in your Combined Flock Book membership number and your password. Passwords have been issued to all members. If you forget your password or wish to change it, please email cfb@grassroots.co.uk.

Postal Applications

To complete an application by hand, download the application form by clicking on the link below. The completed form should be sent to Grassroots Systems Ltd, PO Box 251, Exeter, EX2 8WX - remember to enclose you payment - cheques to be made payable to Grassroots Systems Ltd.

Registration Fees

Fees for applications completed 'on line' will be charged in accordance with the scale below. Once you have completed and submitted the application 'on line', print off the report offered and send it to Grassroots with the appropriate fee. Cheques should be made payable to Grassroots Systems Ltd.

Fees for applications completed by hand and submitted by post, on the existing forms, will continue to be charged at the existing rates. Cheques should be made payable to Grassroots Systems Ltd.

A free copy of the printed Flock Book will be sent to owners registering stock. Further copies are available from RBST for £4.50 inc P&P.
