Equine Infectious Anaemia Found in UK

Equine Infectious Anaemia (EIA) has been detected in two horses in Wiltshire following importation from Romania via Belgium, Defra confirmed today.
This is the first time in 26 years that this disease has been seen in the UK.
The premises is currently under restriction and the two infected horses will be humanely destroyed in line with existing regulations.
